Overlook Walk is a transformative, elevated pedestrian path that wraps around the Seattle Aquarium Ocean Pavilion, connecting Seattle’s iconic Pike Place Market to Waterfront Park. From this spot, 360 degree views of downtown and the water offer an amazing vantage point for shoreline storytelling.
We designed a series of panels that interpret the Salish Sea, native plant life and ecological artwork sandblasted on the public rooftop plaza. Looking to the south, the original natural shoreline is overlaid with how it appears today, revealing its dramatic evolution. To the west, viewers can understand their place in the vast mountain ranges and watershed of the Puget Sound, as well as the diverse wildlife under the sea.
