Founders Hall, a new building designed by LMN Architects for the University of Washington campus, features cross-laminated timber construction and many other sustainable features. Our sign system, with punched-through type and exposed fasteners, is designed to suit the building that proudly features northwest wood and an honest, natural material palette. Low-key interpretation pops up throughout the space to explain the building’s sustainable features including passive ventilation and drought-resistant plantings. The wayfinding system abandons plastic for hard-wearing wood, aluminum and steel, and is constructed as individual panels, allowing efficient changing of content over time, with minimum material waste.
