In the heart of downtown Seattle, the 2+U site steps down steeply from 2nd to 1st Avenue and along the way provides some beautiful views of the city and waterfront, welcoming the public in and through the site. The plaza at the heart of the site is designed as a generous public space for seating, eating, concerts, art installations and other programming.

We took the plus sign from the 2+U logo and ran with it, both visually and conceptually, creating a visual and material language for both the urban village and the office towers above. Around the urban village, the city required regulatory signs to mark public and private boundary lines, we took this as an opportunity to bring in more playful language, welcoming visitors and celebrating all that they can do, rather than what is prohibited.
