The Center for Wooden Boats

The Center for Wooden Boats has been a beloved gathering place on Seattle’s Lake Union since 1976. Their new building, the stunning Wagner Education Center, raised their visibility and all the great work they do nurturing kids and the local boat-loving community. The space includes a boat-building shop, education rooms, and a flexible space that can accommodate exhibits and events. Our signage and donor recognition was designed to complement the structure’s industrial, honest material palette, folding seamlessly into the Olson Kundig-designed building. Wood panels interpret a series of boats hung from the rafters. And if you look closely at each steel donor panel, you will discover the favorite sailing waters of each donor.
