To celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, their Discovery Center commissioned five artists to create original works for display. Each piece is inspired by one of the Foundation’s global initiatives on poverty, health, and education. We designed a system to allow the artworks to be featured along the entire facade of the Discovery Center on unique circular, bench-mounted displays, able to be viewed from outside and inside. Large-scale translucent graphics on glass transform the entire facade into an inviting visual gallery. Once the Center can safely re-open post-pandemic, the rest of the exhibition—designed to be experienced along the ramp within—will go on display, showcasing the life-saving work of the Foundation’s first 20 years.
