Interpreting the landscape in historic Pioneer Square

Earlier this year, the city broke ground on the Pioneer Square pedestrian improvements project — one step toward reconnecting Seattleites with the waterfront. As part of the project, we teamed up with landscape architects MIG and Valerie Segrest of Tahoma Peak Solutions, to interpret a variety of native plant technologies. The etched wood kickrails feature native plants and their respective uses in creating tools for hunting and harvesting.
