‘Give Me a Sign’ will open May 13th at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum
Installation is underway for ‘Give Me a Sign,’ an exhibition opening at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum on May 13th.
The Give Me a Sign exhibition charts the impact of the discipline-defining 1972 Symbol Sourcebook; a book that can be found in design studios all around the world. We have been working closely with the Cooper Hewitt curatorial team to bring the book content to life as a dynamic in-person experience featuring audience contributions and engagement.
In the way that author and industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss crowd-sourced many of the collected symbols in the Sourcebook, the Give Me a Sign exhibition will invite visitors to draw and contribute their own symbols, co-creating an international Symbol Sourcebook of 2024.
Give Me a Sign will be on view at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City from May 13, 2023, to September 2, 2024.
