Studio Matthews

We specialize in thoughtful, unique and sustainable design solutions. Our projects include exhibitions, installations, sign systems, print pieces, websites, identities and events. Kristine Matthews — founding partner of thomas.matthews, an award-winning design firm based in London — expanded the firm’s sustainable ethos and leading-edge practice to the Pacific Northwest. Dovetailing practiced sustainability with education, Matthews’ advanced Environmental Design course at the University of Washington creates cutting-edge design in the environment with a focus on interactivity and sustainability.

We are fortunate to have worked with people who like to get involved – who are concerned with innovative approaches, stewardship, culture, and environmental impact – like EMP Museum, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and The Burke Museum. From neighborhood block-parties to international foundations, we collaborate with award-winning architects like Olson Kundig and Graham Baba, local craftsmen like Adam McNae, city institutions like Seattle Center, and community non-profits. We work with artist Sarah Bergmann and her Pollinator Pathway, educators like the Foster School of Business, and people a lot like you.
