7. Staying local, buying ethical
We work to find good local suppliers for each job, to avoid the extra energy and pollution created by lengthy transport, and to strengthen the local community and economy. When we can’t buy locally, we source ethical suppliers.
Earth Centre site guides
Client: Earth Centre and The Millennium Commission
We worked with local printers and suppliers wherever possible on our interpretation and print for the Earth Centre in Doncaster, an former mining town in central England. An excellent local printer produced the visitor guides on 100% post-consumer waste papers. Covers were created from used plastic bags collected in a local shopping center, melted down and transformed into colorful, one-of-a-kind pieces.
