Concept for a campaign to revive the lost art of written correspondence, and to ‘spread some positivity one postcard at a time’. A renovated delivery truck travels across the U.S. stopping at outdoor venues where it opens up into a display and interaction space. Participants write on a screenprinted postcard of their choice, sitting on modified packing boxes. The cards are collected, temporarily displayed and then mailed by the Write On! staff. This student team tested out Write On! for real - in simplified form - on the UW campus and at local farmers markets and met with great success. Enjoy the video results at www.positivepost.org.
Developed in Kristine Matthews’ Environmental Design course at the University of Washington. Response to the project ‘Make Change’, in which student teams design installations to create a change they would like to see in the world.
