Permanent installation in and around the elevators of Paccar Hall, the new home of the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington. ‘Change’ reflects on the relationship between business and change. “CHANGE” is embedded in the floor of each elevator. As the elevators move from one floor to another, the word CHANGE forms different phrases with other words that appear on the floor outside. For example: GLOBAL CHANGE, LOCAL CHANGE, CHANGE IDEAS, CHANGE LIVES and so on. Actual “loose change” from countries around the world is embedded in the elevator floors, hinting at the diversity of the UW Business School, and the global nature of business. Watch a short (3 minute) video on the project here.
